I probably should have posted this a few weeks ago - anyhoo.....
..... I now have several trainee Pilates teachers sometimes attending my classes - doing, observing and also teaching a few moves (while I sit in a corner and nit pick them!)
They are doing the same course I did - Polestar Mat. Part of the requirements before being allowed to take the exam include 50 hours practise, 30 hours observation and no less than 50 hours shadow (supervised) teaching!
As you might imagine, it's quite hard finding someone willing to 'share their gig' and this is my a way of 'putting back into the system' - ie repaying MY teacher's kindnesses to me when I was training.
I think it's a great thing from your perspective - you get to be taught by someone who's not yet fallen wayward into bad habits (grin). Additionally, while I am demo-ing, there's another very keen pair of eyes watching you, ready to pounce and nudge/kick you into line :)
One thing I've noticed about the trainees thus far, is a couple of them are not afraid 'to really get in there and tactile cue' where needed. I probablly should do more of this myself truth be told and I think it's great but, if you'd rather they didn't, please let me know.
